From seed to sale

Veteran re-training

From seed to sale

At Better Together CT, veterans train with our team in growing organic hemp and vegetables with sustainable regenerative farming, plus other non-agricultural programs.

We train seed to sale on CBD products we make in house from our own hemp. Planting, growing, harvesting, drying, curing, extracting, product making and labeling give veterans full hands-on experience and new job skills.

 • Aeroponic growing for microgreens, sprouts and vegetables
 • Crops sold at our CWC Farm Store and to farm-to-table restaurants
 • Produce shared with seniors and donated to school lunch programs

Seed to sale

From our soil to your shelf

We don't buy white-label CBD and slap a sticker on it. Here's how every bottle gets made.

Plant

Seeds and clones go into our North Stonington fields and indoor grow.

Grow

Sustainable, regenerative farming. No shortcuts.

Harvest & cure

Hand-harvested, dried and cured on the farm.

Extract

We extract our own hemp in house, small batch by small batch.

Make & label

Veterans in our program help make, fill and label every product.

Animals, art and wellness

Healing

Animals, art and wellness

Interested participants can join animal therapy: touch therapy with our mini horses and chickens.

We also offer art classes for veterans in the community as part of healing: drawing, painting, sewing, collage, ceramics and drumming, with more added as new volunteers join. The focus is the experience itself, so the process becomes a kind of meditation.

The farm sits directly across the street from the Country Wellness Center (CWC), which offers holistic services alongside medical treatment.

Growing the mission

Where we are headed

Growing the mission

 • Build a job network for veterans and students as they finish their training
 • Expand indoor crops, microgreens and hemp alongside our outdoor fields
 • Winterize the CWC country barn store for year-round operation, with art therapy in the loft
 • Grow industrial hemp for land remediation and products like hempcrete, bioplastics and textiles
